University Teachers' Link stands for knowledge, self-dignity, faith, and freedom — across public and private universities in Bangladesh.

University Teachers' Link (UTL) is a national, non-partisan organisation for teachers of public and private universities in Bangladesh. Holding four principles — knowledge, self-dignity, faith, and freedom — it was formally launched on 26 July 2025 at Dhaka University TSC.
UTL draws inspiration from 1947, 1971, and 2024 — not as slogans, but as a claim on what a university teacher owes the republic.
Colonial freedom and the political selfhood of a people seeking a just, inclusive, self-reliant society in East Bengal. UTL reads this moment as the first modern claim that knowledge and dignity cannot be rented from an empire.
Independence from Pakistani rule and the struggle for equality, human dignity, and social justice. The university was both battlefield and archive; teachers were asked to keep a language and a people visible.
A popular uprising calling for qualitative change in state, society, and economy. After July, UTL argues that campuses cannot return to partisan capture, ragging, or silence dressed as neutrality.
To follow the standards of teaching, research, and ethical responsibility — and to establish a research- and education-friendly safe campus for teachers and students.
UTL exists to restore the dignity of the teaching profession: research quality, professional rights, national responsibility, religious tolerance, and a campus students can walk without fear.
Raise the quality of research and teaching; connect national and international resources; encourage innovation and interdisciplinary inquiry; build bridges with Bangladeshi-origin scholars abroad.
Defend the rights and dignity of university teachers; stand for expression, academic freedom, and professional independence from political pressure.
Believe in Bangladesh's sovereignty, unity, and cultural heritage; remain alert to national interest and social harmony; encourage teachers to take part in national development and policy.
Foster mutual respect, dialogue, and coexistence on the ground of nationality and religious values; value the teacher's role in communal harmony.
Use proper leadership, mutual accountability, and the combined strength of the teaching community to protect rights and to build a safe, education-friendly campus.
Any university teacher who shares these principles may join UTL.
